mama
wrapping me up so warm and tight

your voice so comforting and sweet
the lullaby rings throughout the night
sending away all my fear and fright

Carrie underwood or "Carrie Underpants" is my mom's favorite musician. Whenever I hear carrie underwood sing, I instantly think of my mom. i'm not sure when it happened, but somehow "Carrie underpants" stuck.
18 years have come and gone
For momma they flew by
But for me they drug on and on
We were loading up that Chevy
Both tryin' not to cry
Momma kept on talking
Putting off good-bye.

Dear Mama,
Thank you for all that you have done for me in the past eighteen years of my life. You've held my hand, rocked me to sleep, and have even put up with me on my sassiest days. I don't know how you do it. You'd give anything for us three girls, and you don't even hesitate when we ask to eat your food or borrow your clothes.
I know that I can talk to you about anything and everything, and that your ears are always open. The seat next to you will always be ready for me to come by.
Throughout the past years of high school, you've supported me in everything that I've been involved with. You even came to all of my activities-band, choir, speech, and sports. I truly appreciate it, even if you are almost always late. It will always be a comforting feeling to know that you're always there for me- not just in the stands, but in life in general.
Mama, you work way too hard and way too much. You get home too late and stress yourself out because of it. I guess I know where I get that from..... You will always be a hard worker, and somehow, you manage to get everything done. Even when you take on ten projects at once. I love that about you.
Next year, I'm going to miss seeing you and dad every single day. It will be weird, even though were only a phone call away. Maybe you'll actually get free time without any daughters in the house.
Mama, thank you for everything that you have done for me, and continue to do for me. I love you!
